Ode to Jaclyn

He said...

It feels surreal and I feel grateful to Jaclyn.

I accepted a promotion yesterday to take on a management role at the new State of Utah Employee Resource and Information Center (ERIC). I have been praying for an opportunity like this since I got out of school in April and it has finally come to fruition.

Before I get into the details of the job (stay tuned for tomorrow's post), I wanted to publicly thank Jaclyn for all her support in helping me get to his stage in life. She has been so good for me in so many ways.

She sacrificed her career aspirations to get me through school. She sacrificed energy as she chose to work from home and raise Austin while I got a master's degree. (She's still working 4-5 hours from home Mon-Friday!) Jaclyn has been supportive socially and emotionally as well, inspiring me to be a better person in so many ways.

This week I took a pop quiz from a New York Times article about how sustaining partners can be. I rated Jaclyn very high because she inspires me so much. She has helped me improve, for the better, in so many ways and I am deeply indebted for that.

Jaclyn, I love you!

Re: Jeremy,

Yes I will have to commute to SLC. We're staying put in Pleasant Grove at least until our lease is up. After that, I guess we'll see how things go. We're not "itching" to leave, but we'll see how we feel in a few months.
